Goodwill Presents Spirit of Goodwill Awards
Two local leaders recognized for their commitment to Goodwill’s mission
Portland – Goodwill Industries of Northern New England has announced that its 2011 recipients of the Spirit of Goodwill Award are Charlie Kennedy of Cape Elizabeth and Gary Wolcott of Chesterfield. Both individuals were recognized in an awards ceremony at Goodwill’s 78th annual meeting this past October.
Charlie Kennedy is Vice President of Community Development Banking at KeyBank. Mr. Kennedy works in partnership with Goodwill on the Good Wheels program, which offers low interest auto loans for working TANF recipients in Maine. Mr. Kennedy also works with Goodwill and other community organizations to enhance the financial literacy of working families through the CA$H Coalition (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope).

Gary Wolcott came to Maine in the 1990s to develop specialized community-based residential services at Goodwill. He currently serves as the first program manager for the State of Maine’s consolidated Brain Injury Services. He has worked as an educator and trainer at the national and local levels. For nearly twenty five years, Mr. Wolcott had dedicated his career to developing individualized services for people with traumatic brain injuries.
