Goodwill Industries of Northern New England Announces Anna Eleanor Roosevelt as CEO

Northern New England – Goodwill Industries of Northern New England announces Anna Eleanor Roosevelt as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She will provide strategic guidance for Goodwill’s programs and retail stores in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Most recently, Ms. Roosevelt served as Vice President, Global Corporate Citizenship for the Boeing Company in Chicago. During her ten years with Boeing, Ms. Roosevelt and her team influenced their approach to corporate citizenship through their philanthropy and community investment. Prior to her time with Boeing, she served as the Executive Director of the Brain Research Foundation at the University of Chicago. Ms. Roosevelt also previously provided leadership for several arts and cultural organizations, including the Kentucky Museum (Bowling Green), the Center for Scandinavian Studies (Chicago) and Museums in the Park (Chicago).

Goodwill Board President, Judy Stone, noted that she looks forward to working with Ms. Roosevelt to expand work and training opportunities for people in northern New England. “Anne brings years of experience and dedication to public service. She is passionate and committed to her work and I look forward to the vision and guidance she will provide the organization.”

In 2008, Ms. Roosevelt received a Leadership in Diversity Award from Access Living, Advocates for the Disabled. In 2010, she received the Public Humanitarian Award from the Illinois Humanities Council. She currently serves as Chair of the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute and has most recently served as a board member at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship and was a Member of the Corporate Advisory Council for the American Red Cross, among others.

Ms. Roosevelt holds a Master’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s from Stanford.
