SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — In a couple of weeks Goodwill Industries will open it's newest store in the old Circuit City building near the Maine Mall.
The downturn in the economy forced Circuit City into bankruptcy, but it also sent people in search of bargains. That has helped Goodwill's retail operations thrive.
Goodwill Industries operates 26 stores in Northern New England, with 19 in Maine. The new store will become one of its largest retail operations in the region.
"I think the mall area has been a natural magnet for shoppers for some time and we haven't been able to locate here until properties became available as a result of the downturn in the economy", said Goodwill's Randy Finamore.
The grand opening is set for Friday, March 26th at 9:00am.
