You all know how much I love Goodwill. I had an awesome time taking a group of girls shopping at the Bangor location this summer and I’ve found numerous great deals at Goodwill stores all across Maine. That’s why I’m writing this post, to share my love for Goodwill– and to share some shopping information. Goodwill sent out a back-to-school media release, which made it’s way into my inbox. Now, I’m sharing it with all of you! So check it out, download the coupon, and get shopping!

Goodwill Has Back-to-School Savings for the Classroom, Lunchroom and Dorm Room
Back to School Coupon Being Offered August 27 – September 15
Maine (Statewide) – Whatever your back-to-school needs, Goodwill has you covered. With our vast supply of gently used clothing, housewares and other items, your local Goodwill store is the one-stop shopping spot for preschool, K-12 and college students alike.
In addition to the clothing, supplies, electronics, musical instruments, sporting equipment and other items you might normally think about for back-to-school shopping, other items can meet your needs with a little creativity:
- Men’s dress shirts, worn backwards, are great painting smocks for your preschooler’s classroom.
- Pack lunches and snacks in reusable plastic containers instead of plastic baggies.
- Duffel bags, luggage and hanging bags easily haul your stuff to and from college.
Not only will you be getting what you need when you shop at Goodwill, but you’ll also be helping others. When Goodwill sells donated items, the revenue funds job training programs and community-based services for people with disabilities, those who lack education or work experience and others facing challenges to finding employment.
“It may not be foremost in your mind, but you’re helping the people in your community when you shop at Goodwill,” said Michelle Smith, Communications Manager for Goodwill Industries of Northern New England. “Our job training and community resource programs helped close to 50,000 people in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont last year. That wouldn’t have been possible without the revenue generated from the sales of donated items at our 27 stores throughout northern New England.”

“And while you’re at it, why not bring in a bag of your unwanted items,” said Smith. “You’ll be among the thousands of our neighbors who donated 35.7 million pounds to Goodwill last year, further helping those who need our services.”
