On Saturday, January 23, Goodwill will be closing the store in Bath, Maine.
The decision to close the store was not an easy one. When leases are up for a store, it is part of Goodwill’s strategy to look at how the store is performing and what the market can bear. Zip code analysis demonstrated that more and more customers were visiting the Topsham store. In addition, sales at the Bath store have steadily declined over the past few years, forcing the agency to spend more dollars to keep the store open.
The mission of Goodwill is to engage the human potential and enrich the quality of life within our communities by eliminating barriers to opportunity and to independence. Revenue from Goodwill’s stores helps to fund our many programs, including job counseling and training, youth mentoring programs, brain injury rehabilitation, deaf services, and day and residential programs for individuals with disabilities.
We greatly appreciate all the loyal business our Bath and Midcoast customers have given to this store over the years. We encourage shoppers and donors to visit the Goodwill store in nearby Topsham.
Again, many thanks for your years of loyalty to the Bath store.
