Saco– The York County Jobs Alliance (YCJA) will host a workshop that addresses legal concerns of job seekers. Participants will learn about basic employment law, your rights in Maine when terminated from a job; and where to seek help. There will also be an opportunity to learn about education and re-training options for older workers.

Guest presenters include:

  • Leah B. Rachin, Attorney, Bergen & Parkingson (Kennebunk)
  • Bob Trail, Adviser on Senior Workforce issues
  • Melissa Ayotte, Older Worker Program Coordinator, Goodwill Industries of Northern New England

The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP by calling Ryan Anderson at (207) 571-3301 or email ryan.anderson@goodwillnne.org. Light refreshments will be served. More information can be found at www.goodwillnne.org.

The YCJA is a service offered by the Goodwill Workforce Solutions Center in Biddeford.  The group meets the first and third Tuesday of each month and is open to individuals residing in York County. The meetings provide a welcoming space for sharing ideas about employment through open discussion, networking and support.

Each meeting features a guest speaker from the local business and professional community, who offer career exploration tools and feedback to job seekers’ questions.  Past presenters include individuals from the Maine Department of Labor, Bonney Staffing, Southern Maine Medical Center, TD Bank, Northern York County YMCA and University College in Saco.
