Vote Earth!
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney. More then 2 million homes and business shut off their lights for one hour to raise awareness of the environmental issues.
In 2009, Earth Hour has a goal of one billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. According to the Earth Hour site, “Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from.”
When one billion people turn our lights off, we are sending a powerful visual message to our elected officials that climate change and global warming is a top priority for global citizens.
