Workforce Solutions

Helping men, women, and teens with disabilities or other barriers achieve their employment goals is central to our mission. Goodwill's staff is skilled in helping job seekers identify work goals and finding the job they want. To access job opportunities, we work closely with hundreds of businesses, learning about the job types, turnover problems, and training needs.

Adult and youth job seekers facing economic disadvantages come to Goodwill every day to take advantage of a powerful array of services designed for one purpose: getting people back to work as quickly as possible.

Some of the men and women who use our employment services are people with disabilities such as deafness, physical impairments, developmental disabilities, or brain injuries. Goodwill also helps welfare recipients gain employment. Our approach here involves traditional Job Development Services, such as career exploration, on the job assessment, skill training, job placement, and on the job training. Some individuals, once placed in a job, benefit from an ongoing level of support. We provide Supported Employment options for these folks through individual placements and staffing contacts.

Goodwill offers Staffing Services to businesses in Maine and New Hampshire, providing working solutions for accessing new employees. Goodwill operates Good Wheels to Work program, which allows working welfare recipients to access low interest loans to purchase used vehicles. Several components of Goodwill's Workforce Solutions are nationally accredited by CARF, the Accreditation Commission.
