Programs & Services
Goodwill offers several programs to assist individuals with disabilities and those who face other barriers achieve economic and social independence. Below you will find a summary of our services. For more information on each program, please click on the appropriate link.
Brain Injury Services
Brain Injury Services are provided in six residential settings and at NeuroRehabilitation centers in Lewiston and Portland. Services include intensive rehabilitation support such as neuropsychological assessment, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, recreational therapy, substance abuse counseling, living skills training, and psychosocial support.
Deaf Services
Goodwill is Maine's largest, most experienced provider of Deaf Services. We offer intensive case management and residential and community support for deaf individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.
Developmental Disability Services
Developmental Disability Day Services are provided in Augusta, Portland, and Waterville. Day services focus on individuals' participation in community-based social and recreational activities. Small group and individual services are offered.
Residential Services are provided in Augusta, Portland, Waterville, and Winthrop. Individuals receive living support and training in their own apartments or Goodwill-operated homes. Each participant receives service coordination support to help identify strengths and needs in order to develop person-centered plans.
Employment & Training
Employment Services are available in several locations throughout Maine and New Hampshire. Services include community based situational assessment, job-seeking support, job coaching, and ongoing employment support.
Goodwill offers a wide range of training and development courses for members of our staff, service providers, service recipients, and the public.
Quality and Satisfaction
We analyze the performance of our programs and services by regularly tracking and reporting efficiency and effectiveness outcome measures. Efficiency measures include maintaining budget expectations, employing and retaining skilled staff members, limiting lost time injuries, and maintaining safety of service recipients. Effectiveness measures include achieving personal objectives, positive changes in functionality, and customer satisfaction. Stakeholders (service recipients, family members, referral resources, and employers) are surveyed each year to measure satisfaction and obtain feedback regarding program performance.
Goodwill's Human Services programs are licensed by the state of Maine and accredited by CARF, Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
