Planned Giving

Planned Giving

Planned gifts to Goodwill Industries of Northern New England create extraordinary opportunities while preserving the future of our mission.  At the same time, planned gifts allow you to combine your charitable giving goals with your estate and financial planning goals.

There are a number of planned giving techniques from which you can choose.  The simplest is naming Goodwill as a beneficiary in your will.

How a Bequest Works: You can provide now for a future gift to Goodwill by including a bequest provision in your will.  Goodwill receives the gift and applies it to The Goodwill Fund or to the program or service of your specifications.

The Benefits: With a bequest, your assets remain in your control during your lifetime. You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.  There is no upper limit on the estate tax deductions that can be taken for charitable bequests.  And you know that your gift will benefit Goodwill tomorrow just as you intend it to today. We encourage you to consult your attorney or financial planning professional to ensure that a planned gift fits into your overall estate plan.

Creating a Legacy of Goodwill

Individuals who inform us of their intention to include Goodwill in their will or other estate plan are invited to join The Circle of Goodwill, our legacy society.
