  • Gifts of Stock
Many thoughtful donors review their stock portfolio and may select those stocks which have appreciated the most (and which have been held for more than a year) to use for charitable purposes. Often these donors give stock instead of cash because it fits well with their overall financial plans and may allow them to give more to the charity of their choice than they had thought possible. To make a gift of stock to Goodwill Industries of Northern New England, please contact Jane Driscoll, our vice president of philanthropy and public affairs at (207) 774-6323, ext. 2313.
  • Planned Gifts
Planned gifts are often described as the ultimate gift - one that expresses an individual's values to future generations. Whether through a trust that provides lifetime income to the donor, with the remainder serving as a gift to Goodwill, or through a provision in a will, planned gifts are meant to help meet the needs of both the organization and the donor. Past planned gifts to Goodwill Industries of Northern New England have helped us meet the evolving needs of those we serve by developing new and innovative programs. Such gifts can transform an organization. As always, please consult your attorney or financial planning professionals to ensure that a planned gift fits into your overall estate plan.
  • Creating a Legacy of Goodwill
Sample bequest language: "I give, devise, and bequeath (indicate a specific amount, proportionate share, specific property, or remainder) to Goodwill Industries of Northern New England of Portland, Maine." Individuals who inform us of their intention to include Goodwill in their will or other estate plan are invited to join The Circle of Goodwill, our legacy society. For more information on The Circle of Goodwill or on establishing a planned gift, please contact Jane Driscoll, our vice president of philanthropy and public affairs at (207) 774-6323, ext. 2313.
