We made our annual Goodwill trek yesterday to see what we might find to initiate some ghoulish holiday spirit in our house – and our local Goodwill store did not disappoint!
We found a whole aisle of household Halloween decor:
There was a huge selection of costumes:
And also an aisle of corresponding accessories. Everything from wigs to makeup to wands to pom poms – the choices were endless:
My 4 year-old spent at least 30 minutes trying on costumes, wigs, hats, shoes – and every single accessory she could find:
As usual, we found everything we were looking for: decor to make our home more festive, full costumes, various items we could put together to make our very own creative costumes, a perfect selection of decorations to dress up out pumpkin carving party – and so much more!
We had a great time shopping for Halloween; I never feel guilty spending a few dollars at Goodwill since I know the money goes to such great causes. I make sure to use these little shopping sprees as teachable moments with my daughters. We talk about the amazing programs that Goodwill supports, the great value that comes from the items we donate being sold at such affordable prices for people who may not otherwise be able to afford these clothes, home decor and household items.
And now, we need to narrow down our ideas and figure out three costumes for these three little girls to wear out for a night of tricks and treats!

Look no further than Goodwill’s Halloween Headquarters. With just a little imagination, you can put together a fun and frugal Halloween costume. Goodwill offers gently used and new costumes for the whole family for less than the cost of costume stores or rented attire.
