May Day Weekend Sale in Portsmouth

Hear ye, hear ye!

may-day-saleCome on down to the Portsmouth Goodwill Retail Store for our May Day Weekend Sale! We will be featuring a HUGE new shipment of summer donated goods, such as t-shirts, shorts, bags, hats, beachwear, summer dresses, and lots more.

Also!  Because we have been on such a bike kick over here lately, we will be featuring a new collection of donated bikes for your choosing.  The event is May 1-3 and be sure to get there early to stock up on summer clothes.  Contact the Portsmouth store at (603) 430-2040 for more information.

bicycleWith Spring well on it way and promises of 60 F degree days on the horizon, biking has been on mind.

And just in time!  Spring is the season of bike swaps and I found a few scheduled in northern New England over the next few weeks.  If you know of any bike swap events in your area, please leave us a comment and I will add them to the list!

1. The 2009 Great Maine Bike Swap

If you are on the hunt for new bike, need to swap out your old bike, or would like to oogle thousands of bikes at once, make sure you are at this event.  The Bicycle Coalition of Maine is hosting this event on the followings days:

2. Portsmouth Bike Swap at Papa Wheeliesportsbikeswapicon2

11 am to 5 pm (rain date: May 3)

If you live in the Seacoast area, don’t miss out on this event!  The event is at Papa Wheelie’s and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Seacoast Area Bicycle Routes (SABR), a non-profit advocacy group for cyclists in New Hampshire and Southern Maine.

3. Earl’s Famous Bike Swap Sale

May 2 & 3

2500 Williston Road, S. Burlington, VT,

9 am to 5 pm on May 2; noon to 5 pm on May 3.

To participearlsate in this swap, you must check in your used bicycle on Thursday, April 30 for Friday, May 1, between 10 am and 6 pm.  Visit Earl’s Cyclery & Fitness for more information.

Can’t make it out to the Bike Swap?  Do you have an old bicycle to donate?  You can drop them off at any our Goodwill retail stores!  Please keep an eye on the blog, as we have some posts coming up about bike repair, bike shop recommendations, and more!
